Building a 7 1/4" gauge Sweet William Locomotive (Very Slowly)
So what does it take to build a steam Locomotive? Here I will try to show what I have done so far. This is by no means the correct or only way and its taking much longer than I ever imagined. Please bear with me as updates may be irregular.
A second hand set of materials were purchased from Station Road Steam (links below) This set included the frame materials roughly cut and a few components such as the stretchers and smoke box door part started. Now great you think! some work already done however trying to work out what the first builder was intending to do can be more difficult than starting form scratch. A set of plans were purchased from Blackgates Engineering who stock all the castings and plans for this locomotive.
